Chanda Felder was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She is the middle child and only girl of five siblings. Chanda received her M.B.A. degree in accounting from Robert Morris University, Chicago, Illinois, in 2010. After college, she continued working in accounting and eventually landed her first job as an accountant at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place where she worked her way up from a housekeeper to an income auditor due to her hard work, determination, and positive attitude. She was later awarded, “Someone You Should Know.” Eventually, Chanda went on to work for other great companies such as Northwestern University, Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and the Medical Examiner’s Office of Cook County.
However, Chanda’s goal is to one day start her own company serving the less fortunate. Chanda began working extensively with helping the less fortunate in the early 2000s with her previous church until she decided that this was something that she was passionate about. As a result, in 2012 she began recruiting volunteers to help with street outreach and that work still continues on a bi-monthly basis. Chanda believes that one of her purposes in life is to minister to the lost.
Her passion for helping others has led her to raise money and organize a team of family, friends, and complete strangers to come together and purchase needed items to take to the streets to feed the less fortunate.
She does this with the hope of one day opening her very own facility for the homeless. It gives Chanda joy to know that God hand-picked her to make a difference and to be a blessing to Chicago’s homeless. Her goal in life is to help get homeless men, women, and children from where they are to the place where God desires them to be. Chanda's nonprofit organization YouB4Me vision is to provide housing, health care, outreach, spiritual care, and social services to adults and youth who struggle with homelessness, poverty, and loneliness.
Chanda is an author, entrepreneur, encourager, life coach, prayer warrior, but most importantly, she is a child of God. She is a faithful servant, daughter, sister, auntie, role model, inspiring actress, and mentor. Her heart to serve others, positive attitude, devotion, acts of kindness and welcoming demeanor are just a few traits that draw others to her. When Chanda is not pouring into others through encouraging words, prayer, or leading others to Christ, she can be found spending time with her family, friends, dancing, or acting.
